The latest boot to arrive just in time for review before Christmas is the new Adidas F50 adiZero miCoach. Adidas has gone with a rather striking visual colorway on this one, with the High Energy/Electricity/White colorway offering players one of the most vibrant looking boots ever created! I am testing the full-grain leather version, which weigh in at an extremely like 6.0oz. Designed for speed! Personally, I have to admit I am not a fan of the colors used but I am extremely eager to find out what the miCoach system is all about and how it can be used to help develop your game.
The actual boot and miCoach chip need to purchased separately (or you can order them together as a package) but it is important to note that the chip doesn’t come solely with the boot! My recommendation is to figure out if you want the leather or synthetic version of the boot, then simply add the miCoach chip you need! The total for both should run around $250. Stay tuned for a full review in the next few weeks!
On a final note, I had problems setting up the miCoach chip out of the box. I ended up having to troubleshoot the CONNECT (or the piece that plugs into your USB port on the computer) in order to ensure it had the appropriate driver to work on my PC. After researching, I found no Adidas support on the issue and I do imagine many players will encounter the same issue. If you do suffer the same problems try this:
- On your computer, go to Control Panel > Hardware > Devices
- Right click the ANT USBstick2 and hit “Troubleshoot”
- Follow the instructions to update the chips driver.
I am really looking forward to this review.
i just saw the f10 version of these at my soccer store for indoor… btw whats the difference between the f10 and f50… please respond
The difference is the quality of the materials and the weight. You really need to feel how light the adizeros are to believe that they are light. If you are considering buying one of the two, try them on at a store that has them before you buy the f10's and you will be amazed. You could also consider the F30's. They retail for $95.00. They don't make a F50 version for indoor if you want the indoor version.
k thnx… i think ill get the f10 for indoor
ugh…less and less natural material on the f50’s as they go farther and farther..
the last f50 series they made( the one with the completely orange ones) was the best f50 series ever in my opinion
to be honest, this colorway is starting to grow on me a little bit..
The black/warning colorway is starting to grow on me, not so much this colorway. http://www.soccercleats101.com/2011/10/09/adidas-…
On adidas.com you can customize them. So cool. Although you have to pay $270.00 for a custom version, which may be worth it to you if you don't like the launch colorways. You can still customize the predators and adipures. http://www.miadidas.com/US/Main.action
Do you have to charge the chip? If you do how do you do it?
Where do you get the shoes from? Do you pay them yourself? I was thinking about starting my own review-site… Any advice? 🙂
The About tab has information on how Bryan started SoccerCleats101 and how you can start yours!

What part of the shoe is actually leather? Just the top of the fingers or the whole front part?
Just the front region of the boot, above the toes.
That sucks big time! At least with the last Adizero's (1.5?) the whole front region was leather, not only above the toes! With each new release they are using less and less leather. I remember the first Adizero's where mostly leather.
I think it might be because with the addition of the chip or even the cavity that houses it it increases the weight and in order to make up for it they added more synthetic. Just a guess. I don't think it will affect the performance of the boot too much though.
can't wait to see how really impressive Bryan's stats are
Do you think there is a way I could attach micoach chip to other boots?
Not really – there is a cavity in the F50 that stores the chip safely and allows it to be positioned appropriately for accuracy.
it comes with a lace clip so you can clip it on to any boot/shoe but i wouldnt advise kicking with it.. more for running pruposes
Bryan, of all the most recent Ultra light boots which one do you think manages to do it best without skimping down too much. the f50 the puma sl or the Trinity?
They all have their own positives in a way. I personally prefer the Puma V1.11 SL but we are getting to the stage now where companies know where material needs to be placed for the most beneficial protection!
yeah not a big fan of this colorway at all… They look more like Ronald McDonalds signature boot than Messi's
Hey Bryan, which boot do you think its more durable and with a better traction, f30 or the miracles??
dont get the f30 they suck
broo hows the fit on these i have the adipower in 9us and i have like 1/2 and inch from the tip of the toe to the end of the shoe what size do you think i shoyld oder these
