With so many soccer pitches switching to artificial turf surfaces in the US, we expect to see more and more turf specific shoes popping up. This latest Adidas adi5 X-ite release offers players a new option when it comes to deciding what they need to wear. The final assembled boot takes a lot of influence from the adi5 X release, with Adidas looking to improve certain features to suit players needs. The featured release comes in a High Energy/Electricity/Phantom colorway.
The biggest difference on this release is the switch to a more durable design. The upper features a larger coverage of synthetic leather with a highly abrasion-resistant synthetic overlay offering enhanced protection through the toe and heel areas. Adidas also offer up a re-engineered sole that features triangular TRAXION 2.0 studs and round forefoot center studs for faster acceleration. Add in low-speed toe studs and it all comes together as a new type of 5-a-side stud configuration.
Overall, a decent looking release from Adidas, with a shift from the traditional horizontal 3 stripe signature logo to a sort of vertical look. It adds a very futuristic feel to the shoe. There is also a Phantom/Slime and a Dark Onix Metallic/Lemon Peel colorway to choose from, pending your desired style. If these are anything like the original adi5 X when it comes to performance, I am sure players will not be disappointed.
Of course, with a new release comes a new price and this new version hits shelves around the $65 mark.
I really want this boot now that they have less mesh in the upper. You should get a pair of these to review.
Their best turf shoes, and still among the best turf shoes on the market are the copa team turfs. These are just too gimmicky. Although it would be nice if they came out with some updates to the team turfs. Just my opinion.
I like the design, just not the colors.
They seem to have a 'pass pad'. Sweet
*lousy* cushioning with this shoe. very hard heel. expected a better insole for the money
