Nike Tiempo Legend IV Released

Nike Tiempo IV

One of the most consistent performing soccer cleats in Nike’s arsenal has just got a serious upgrade! The Nike Tiempo Legend IV comes with a new vamp quilted front leather design, yet it still holds a top quality look that we expect from the range. The one thing I like about this release right of the bat is that Nike are using subtle colors on the initial rollouts. A Black/White/Total Orange and White/Treasure Blue/Metallic Silver colorways signifies a desire to promote the performance of the boot rather than trying to showboat it in my opinion!

A super soft K-leather upper is designed to offer great touch and feel on the ball. You will notice that the stitching across the front of the boot is positioned differently, sort of like what was featured on the Ronaldinho’s of years past. Well, this is enhanced vamp stitching, strategically placed in order to create lateral support and a natural touch while minimizing any overstretch of the leather.

The regular version does not feature FlyWire technology (unlike the Elite version) and it weighs in at 9.6oz. But the price stays at a tasty $150, leaving them as a top value for money purchase alongside the adiPure IV and the King Finale.

  1. Should I get these or the Adipure IV? I really want to know!!

I won't know till I test these out. The Adidas adiPure are a great boot none-the-less.

Just at the local soccer store and tried both, curious to see how they compare. Interestingly enough, though I expected the adipures to feel better, the Tiempos were miles ahead in comfort, and also felt much lighter (which is weird because they're supposed to weigh equally) I highly recommend the Tiempos over the Adipure. The Adipures just flat out didn't fit as well to the foot. I admit the Adipures do look pretty smooth, but for comfort and ultimately performance, the Tiempos are the better boot.

    Working on getting a pair!

  3. Super keen for a review on these, I had the original R10 boots and they were awesome and apparently these boots will be similar to those!!!! Good luck with gettiing a review pair bryan 🙂

  4. Bryan, if you review these please mention if the sizing is the same as the previous Tiempo that you reviewed. It will make life a lot easier for those of us who order online that way we can order the same size. Thanks.

  5. just bought fg and sg pairs on nikeid, can't wait!

  6. went to the store today and tired both the elite and reg versions on. personally, even not considering the price, i prefer the regular version. it has the non slip thing on the heel and the leather somehow feels softer and nicer, spongier. but too bad it doesnt have the orange tongue and lace.

is the mid foot to the heel kanga lite or k-leather? do u think the leather used on both elite and reg are the same?

    • the heel and some of the mid-foot is kanga lite. the leather is the same, but on the elite version the k- leather is thinner making it a little less supple but lighter.

  7. just got mine today from wegotsoccer! very comfortable and pretty light weight. definately the best tiempo legends so far

  8. I tried these on at a local store and did not adore them as much as i did when i was researchiung them. Last year, I used the tiempo mystic and it was one of the only cleats to fit my wide foot from nike. I really liked those cleats and wanted to get another pair of new tiempos. The new model was very slim compared to the III's and I was very dissapointed. They were lightweight and felt good in the hand but not on the feet. I ended up getting tiempo III legends for the season because they are very reliable and a nice pair of cleats. Honestly, you have to have a very slim foot to order these cleats.

  9. These shoes are legit. Grabbed a pair a couple weeks ago. I like my footy boots tight, so i bought them a little small. Once they worked in (training in rain definately sped up the breaking in process), wow! I had the adipure's in 2009 and the legends in 2008 but these ones are the pick of the lot for sure. I wear the Kangaroo leather F50's also which are, to me, the best shoe out there.

    • Hi ctizzle looking for your advice I am a size 11 but when I tried the Nike tiempo legend iv they felt a bit tight.I was told they stretch a good bit is this true .would not like to buy them in 12 and after breaking them in there too big
