If there is one thing I really like in a boot it is a leather upper, and with the T90 Laser III series about to find a new successor, it is only fitting that Nike release a very tasty Kangaroo Leather version. We know that the T90 series is designed with one thing in mind – Power – but add a soft leather upper and it becomes a whole new boot.
The official colorway for the release is Dark Obsidian/Metallic Silver/Blue Spark, which makes for a unique combo that has an appealing looks in my opinion. The primary color almost has a charcoal look, and once you add that with the brighter silver and some blue detailing it all blends together nicely. I actually think it is the blue detailing that makes the whole boot pop.
The T90 range is designed for power, and having tested both the regular and Elite version, I can confirm that they serve their intended purpose! The addition of five ‘pods’ that sit right along the strike zone help even out pressure distribution on ball contact, making them an ideal boot for shooting. Added to that are the Engineered Microfins, that are designed to deliver an increased level of friction when you contact the ball to create more swerve.
The drawback of adding a leather upper is of course weight, and this version of the T90 Laser III jumps to a pretty high 11.8oz. If I had posted about this exact boot 2 years ago, the weight would not be an issue – maybe we have become a little too lightweight conscience. But don’t doubt this boot – it still offers top level performance and trust me when I say it won’t weigh you down. If you do prefer a synthetic upper, the recently released a White/Black/Chlorine Blue version that might be a better match.
nice color. but t90s are too chunky IMO.
… which makes preds look pretty slick. sorry for the double post.
Lasers are the ugliest boots; so clunky.
will there be an elite version?
