Puma have released a boot in honor of one of the most controversial yet gifted soccer players ever to play the game – Diego Maradona. Aptly named the Puma King Diego Finale, these look like boots that were designed specifically for the feet of the man himself!
One of the main reasons Puma decided to release a boot dedicated to Maradona’s is because he wore Puma Kings throughout his playing career, and this year he will be celebrating his 50th birthday. When a player of his caliber wears a boot for his entire career you know there has to be something unique about the range. I wore several pairs of Puma Kings in my early career and loved them, but I was disappointed in the Puma King XL Italia release.
Instead of simply talking about the specs of the boot, I have better news – the team at Puma are sending over a pair of Puma King Diego’s for testing and review. So, in a few weeks I will have a full review with pics of the release to share.
Believe me when I say that I am excited to be reviewing these! These look like an updated version of the old school Kings with some “King Diego detailing” (his signature, number and Argentina colors) that looks really good. If they fit in a similar fashion to the old school soccer cleats I am looking forward to the high level of quality and comfort. Another design aspect that has caught my eye is the stitched lining across the front of the boots – something about it makes the boot look extremely modern.
Stay tuned for an in-depth review.
