Francesco Totti: Diadora LX-Pro

Francesco Totti, after playing over 500 games and scoring over 200 goals for Roma, continues to dazzle at the top level in Serie A. In the mid week Champions League game, Totti scored the second goal and sealed a 2-0 win over Bordeaux to seal top spot in the group.

Totti scored while wearing the Diadora LX-Pro, a cleat that was specifically created with the Italian star in mind. Now, lets be honest, Diadora is not on the same level as Nike and Adidas in terms of cleat sale revenue. But, in terms of quality it could be said that Diadora surpasses the top two! Controversial statement? Maybe. But if a superstar like Totti has found a home for these cleats in his locker then maybe they are a little better than we think. Remember that at his Prime Roy Keane wore the boots, choosing them over the likes of Adidas and Nike.

The Diadora LX-Pro is the latest version from the Diadora range. The LX, which is roman numerals for the number 60, stand for the number of years Diadora has been in existence, a celebration of sorts. Totti’s cleats have his name and

number 10 embroidered onto the tongue. As for the technical specs, they weigh in at a light 9.5oz and have a waterproof, super soft kangaroo leather upper with the seams designed to maintain perfect ball control. Morpho external heel counter reduces pressure on the Achilles tendon and provides comfort and stability. Slip lasted construction made from nylon and Engage materials enhances comfort and reduces weight. The cleats are designed with stability in mind for an increased thrust and maximum acceleration.

Personally, I think the cleats look pretty nice as well. The design is sharp, and the black cleats look good with the gold lines running along the side. So, with the specs in hand and the cleat priced at $150, I do believe that there is an argument to saying that the cleats are on a par with the quality of Adidas and Nike!
