Over the weekend, we got to see the adidas COPA 70Y in game action for the first time, as Paulo Dybala wore them in Juventus Coppa Italia win vs Bologna. Since Dybala is the only pro player set to wear the limited edition COPA, it was a rare opportunity to see what they look like on pitch. From images, they have the appearance of being an original Copa Munidal, providing that classic, timeless look on foot. But they are so much more!
The more we have learned about these boots since their release, the more unique they get. They sort of feature on unusual inside-out dual layer design, with the inside layer being leather and the outside being Primeknit. It seems counter intuitive to put leather on the inside, but apparently it has worked on the COPA 70Y as adidas display their ability to “create” as only they know how. It’s a true blending of past and present in the upper of one special boot.
